Femur lengthening and deformity correction after growth arrest.

Patient: Michaela
Michaela fractured her femur and developed a growth arrest leading to 1.25 inches of leg length discrepancy and knock-knee (valgus) deformity. She underwent lengthening and deformity correction of her right femur using a monolateral external fixator. Her legs were symmetrical after about 6 weeks. Michaela has straight, symmetrical legs. Bone is fully healed and 100% strong allowing her to play competitive high school varsity soccer.
