Humerus nonunion: Plate fixation
Doctor: S. Robert Rozbruch
Patient: Max
Pre-Op: Max fell and fractured his humerus (upper arm). After a few months of bracing, no bony healing had occurred. His arm was floppy and deformed, he was in pain, and he could not continue his job at Ellis Island.
Post-Op: He was referred to us for surgical treatment of his humerus nonunion. We repaired this using a locking compression plate (Synthes, Paoli,PA) and Grafton bone graft substitute material.
Follow Up: His humerus healed, and he was able to return to all of his prior activities.
